Host a Drive
Host Your Own Drive!
In Washington, Oregon and Idaho there are nearly 20,000 children living in foster care. You can help them get the important items they need by hosting your own Sleep Country Foster Kids donation drive. It’s an easy way to give back to your community and leave the heavy lifting of planning and promotion to us! Information and details on how to Host Your Own Drive follow.
Current Drive: Clothing Drive (6/10 – 7/28/13)
For foster children, leaving home with only the clothes on their backs is often a reality. For foster families, this means quickly replenishing the essentials such as shirts, pants, dresses, undergarments and socks. You can help them by hosting your own Clothing Drive for area foster children. Donating new clothing is a small contribution, but it brings great joy to foster children to receive a new item of clothing and helps make the lives of foster families a little easier.
Upcoming Drive: School Supply Drive (7/29 - 9/8)
How it Works
Spread the Word About Your Donation Drive
Invite, encourage, and ask friends, peers, coworkers, family and neighbors to donate new unwrapped toys for kids of all ages.
Get the word out by talking to friends, neighbors and coworkers, sending an email, and using your social network. Below is a sample email you can use.
Hang posters in high-traffic areas or distribute to potential donors at gatherings.
Talk it up at staff meetings, kid's soccer games, or community gatherings, send an announcement in your work newsletter, or slip the information into a meeting agenda.
Collect Your Donations
Create a central place to collect donations whether it’s the office lobby or kitchen, or your home. Clearly mark containers for donation drop offs. If a cash donation is preferred, ask for checks made out to Sleep Country Foster Kids or they can donate online here.
Drop Off Your Donations to the Nearest Sleep Country USA
Use the store locator to find the most convenient drop off location. Or, if the donation is too large for your car, call us at 253-236-0921 and we’ll send a delivery truck to pick it up.
Share Your Success
Provide us with your name, contact information and a short story about your efforts, and we’ll share your generous story with the local newspapers and community blogs. You deserve the fame and it shows other community members that they can make a difference to.Email email@example.com

Subject: Help me outfit foster children for success
Foster children are often removed from their homes with only the clothes on their backs. For foster families, this means replenishing essential clothing items like shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, leggings and undergarments. I realize how challenging it can be for foster families to do this swiftly and often on a tight budget, and I fondly remember my first pair of “cool” jeans when I was 13.
That’s why I’m supporting the Sleep Country USA Clothing Drive for Foster Kids this year. With 22 nonprofit foster organization partners, the program is designed to take in donations and disperse them to those children most in need. My goal is to collect (number) clothing items for children of various ages and all sizes, and I need your help!
Donations of new clothing, including packaged undergarments and socks, sized toddler to adult can be dropped off at (insert location) and I will take them to Sleep Country. I have fun with shopping and always find great deals that allow me to buy one or two more items, but if shopping isn’t your cup of tea, you can always write a check and Sleep Country employees will do the shopping on your behalf.
Remember your first pair of “cool” jeans? Me too! That’s why I’m hosting a donation drive via the Sleep Country USA Clothing Drive for Foster Kids to help them have the same great memory. My goal is to collect (insert #) clothing items. Just drop them off at (insert drop off location) before 7/28 (or choose a convenient date).
