Host a Drive For Foster Kids
Host Your Own Toy Drive For Foster Kids!
In Washington, Oregon and Idaho there are nearly 20,000 children living in foster care. You can help make their holidays brighter this year by hosting your own Sleep Country Foster Kids Toy Drive. It’s an easy way to give back to your community and leave the heavy lifting of planning and promotion to us!
Toy Drive Dates: 11/4 – 12/15
The holidays can be difficult for foster kids, especially for those who arrive in a new home during this time. In an effort to help Pacific Northwest foster kids keep the joy of the holidays in their hearts, Sleep Country USA is hosting its annual Secret Santa Toy Drive for Foster Kids, and you can help too!
Upcoming Drive: Pajama Drive
How it Works
SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT YOUR DONATION DRIVE
Invite, encourage, and ask friends, peers, coworkers, family and neighbors to donate new water-proof coats for kids of all ages.
Get the word out by talking to friends, neighbors and coworkers, sending an email, and using your social network. Below is a sample email you can use.
Hang posters in high-traffic areas or distribute to potential donors at gatherings.
Talk it up at staff meetings, kid's soccer games, or community gatherings, send an announcement in your work newsletter, or slip the information into a meeting agenda.
Collect Your Donations
Create a central place to collect donations whether it’s the office lobby or kitchen, or your home. Clearly mark containers for donation drop offs. If a cash donation is preferred, ask for checks made out to Sleep Country Foster Kids or they can donate online here.
Drop Off Your Donations to the Nearest Sleep Country USA
Use the store locator to find the most convenient drop off location. Or, if the donation is too large for your car, call us at 253-236-0921 and we’ll send a delivery truck to pick it up.
Share Your Success
Provide us with your name, contact information and a short story about your efforts, and we’ll share your generous story with the local newspapers and community blogs. You deserve the fame and it shows other community members that they can make a difference to.Email firstname.lastname@example.org

Subject: Help me spread holiday cheer to foster kids!
The holidays can be difficult for foster kids, especially for those who arrive in a new home during this time. In an effort to help Northwest foster kids keep the joy of the holidays in their hearts, I’m supporting Sleep Country USA’s annual Secret Santa Toy Drive for Foster Kids, and you can help too!
The program is designed to take in donations and disperse them to those children most in need through 24 non-profit partners throughout the Northwest. My goal is to collect (number) of new, unwrapped gifts, and I need your help!
Donations of new toys can be dropped off at (insert location) by December 15th, and I will take them to Sleep Country. I have fun shopping and always find great deals that allow me to buy one or two more items, but if shopping isn’t your cup of tea, you can always donate online, and Sleep Country employees will do the shopping on your behalf.
Let me know if you have questions!
