Host an Upcoming Foster Kids Drive
Host Your Own Foster Kids Pajama Drive!
In the Northwest, there are nearly 20,000 children living in foster care. You can help them get the important items they need by hosting your own Sleep Country Foster Kids donation drive. It’s an easy way to give back to your community and leave the heavy lifting of planning and promotion to us! Information and details on how to Host Your Own Drive follow.
Pajama Drive Dates: 1/7/2014 - 3/2/2014
For foster children, moving into a foster home often means leaving behind all of their personal belongings. For foster families, this means replenishing important items like clothing, shoes, coats and even pajamas. You can help make night time a little cozier by hosting a Pajama Drive for area foster children
Upcoming Effort: Pajama Bowl: 4/21/2014 in Oregon and 4/28/2014 in Western Washington
How it Works
Spread the Word About Your Donation Drive
Invite, encourage and ask friends, peers, coworkers, family and neighbors to donate new pajamas in all sizes, from infant to teen
Get the word out by talking to friends, neighbors and coworkers, sending an email, and using your social network. Below is a sample email you can use.
Hang posters in high-traffic areas or distribute to potential donors at gatherings.
Talk it up at staff meetings, kid's soccer games, or community gatherings, send an announcement in your work newsletter, or slip the information into a meeting agenda.
Collect Your Donations
Create a central place to collect donations, whether it’s in your home or the lobby or kitchen at work. Clearly mark containers for donation drop offs. If a cash donation is preferred, ask for checks made out to Sleep Country Foster Kids, or direct them to donate online here.
Drop Off Your Donations to the Nearest Sleep Country USA
Use our store locator to find the most convenient drop off location. Or, if the donation is too large for your car, call us 253-236-0921, and we’ll send a delivery truck to pick it up
Share Your Success
Provide us with your name, contact information and a short story about your efforts, and we’ll share your generous story with the local newspapers and community blogs. You deserve the fame, and it shows other community members that they can make a difference, too! Email email@example.com

We know that while not everyone can be a foster parent, anyone can help a foster child™.
Help me make sure every foster child in our community sleeps more soundly in cozy new pajamas! Via the Sleep Country USA Pajama Drive for Foster Kids, my goal is to collect (insert goal #) new pairs of pajamas. I’m collecting donations at (insert drop off location) through 2/26 (or whatever date is most convenient in allowing you to drop off your donations).
To: Friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, PTA
Subject: Help me help foster children sleep a little sounder!
Foster children in our community are often removed from their home with only the clothes on their back. For foster families, this means replenishing important items like new clothes, shoes, coats and even pajamas. I remember my childhood pajamas — soft and footed with my favorite colors and cartoon characters.
That’s why I’m supporting the Sleep Country USA Pajama Drive for Foster Kids this year. With 23 nonprofit foster organization partners, the program is designed to take in donations and disperse them to those children most in need. My goal is to collect (number) of new pajamas for children of various ages and sizes, and I need your help!
Donations of new pajamas can be dropped off at (insert location), and I will take them to a Sleep Country store. I have fun with shopping and always find great deals that allow me to buy one or two more items, but if shopping isn’t your cup of tea, you can always write a check, and Sleep Country employees will do the shopping on your behalf.
